Our Joseph E. Coad Radiation Treatment Center now features a linear accelerator that allows oncologists to radiate tumors with more precision. Our state-of-the-art Center also provides a CT simulator that creates three-dimensional images to allow more accurate location and targeting of cancer cells.

Considered to be the "latest and greatest" in mammography technology today, Senographe Essential provides a more accurate and comfortable experience for women of most body types. SMHC was the first hospital in Southern Maryland to acquire this system.
LightSpeed VCT: The World's First Volume-Computed Tomography System
Referred to as the "64-Slice," LightSpeed VCT creates 64 high-resolution anatomical images as thin as a credit card. It breaks barriers in speed and accuracy of patient exams.
